Measurement Instructions
J/24 GREJCA - Bow Number Fitting Requirements - EC2009 PDF Print E-mail

 Fitting Instructions:
• Clean, degrease and dry the area.
• At 450mm from the Stem and Shear line measuring point drop a 80mm vertical datum line.
Scribe a 550mm line aft at 60mm below the Shear Line measuring point.
• Fold down the top 50mm of backing paper and align the “panel top” with the 60mm datum and the vertical datum at the for end of the leading number with the 450mm mark. This will leave the top of the numbers at 70mm from the shear line.
• Using a soft brush or cloth, brush on the exposed section working out any creases or entrapped air.
• Gradually peel down the remaining backing whilst at the same time brushing the fabric onto the hull, working out horizontally from the centre, taking care to avoid creases and entrapped air.
• Once the numbers are firmly in place, slowly peel down the top transparent layer taking great care at the unsupported ends.

Boat preparation:

The mast should be tied lightly to the pulpit and the push pit, and the rudder should be laid on the trailer. There should be enough of the crew with the boat to move it through the measurement process on the trailer. The owner/skipper or someone with the authority and understanding of the measurement requirements must be with the boat to discuss any problems that may come up.
