Dear Sailing Crews and friends of Sailing, I welcome you to Crete, to our Prefecture, I welcome you to our Municipality.  

It is with great pleasure that I welcome the most important sailing event carried out in our Land and in our Prefecture so far, the European J /24 Championship. 

This Event is the capping stone of the experience acquired in 2007 with the 2007 South European J /24 Championship, which took place at the same area, at Souda Bay and proves once again the great potential of this charismatic land for the development of water sports, offering ideal conditions for training and the promotion of water sports, in combination with the modern facilities of the Municipal Nautical and Sports Centre of Souda. The Municipal Nautical and Sports Centre of Souda is one of the few in our country, the only one in Southern Greece and is one of the most modern Nautical and Sports Centres in the Balkans.

Replace S.I. 8.1 with:

8.1 The course will be windward/leeward, with 4 legs or 6 legs as diagrammed in APPENDIX I, COURSE DIAGRAM (‘A’ )

W4 : Start – 1 – 1a – 2a/2b – 1- 1a - Finish

W6 : Start – 1 – 1a – 2a/2b – 1- 1a - 2a/2b – 1 – 1a – Finish

The course to be sailed (W4 or W6) shall be displayed on the RC starting vessel before the warning signal 

Replace S.I. 15.2 with: 

15.2 Appendix P will apply with the following changes:  Rule P2.3 will not apply and rule P2.2 is changed so that it will apply to any penalty after the first one.
